APEC SME Indicators: A Feasibility Assessment, 1998 This project had two main aims:
To assess the feasibility of developing operational set of measures (or indicators) for monitoring: #progress in achieving APEC objectives as they relate to SMEs; #SME trends and the contribution of SMEs to growth and development.
To develop an action plan for the implementation of a set of SME indicators in APEC economies.
Eco-Efficiency in Small and Medium Enterprises (8 Manuals) This consists of 1 set of 8 manuals and a final report. Annex A of the report presents a set of case studies of the individual companies and the eco-efficiency measures adopted. Annex B of the report is a sample of a Best Practice Manual that was prepared for SMEs.
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a key role in the development of individual economies in the APEC region. This study, which was initiated at the behest of one of the APEC economies (Mexico), is intended to address the key APEC goals of trade liberalisation, access to information, technology transfer and increased competitiveness in international markets.
